ONMO is a six-piece contemporary jazz ensemble led by guitarist and composer Jean de Talhouët. It features the widely acclaimed musicians Mike Soper on trumpet, Jonathan Chung on tenor saxophone, Jean de Talhouët on guitar and compositions, Rupert Cox on piano/keyboards, Huw V Williams on double and electric bass and Joost Hendrickx on drums. The musicians met gradually over time in amongst London’s thriving jazz scene, playing in various overlapping projects, forming friendships, and coming together over their passion to explore new forms – sensing a kinship over similar tastes and interests. 

ONMO’s music is dynamic and broad ranging, drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences such as jazz greats Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, spiritual grooves, polyrhythms, minimalist textures (Nik Bärtsch, Steve Reich…) and guitarists such as Ralph Towner and Bill Frisell.
